Oil Changes

Oil Change Service FAQs

Why is regular oil change maintenance critical for my engine?

Engine oil lubricates moving internal components, reduces friction, draws away harmful heat, and carries away dirt and sludge deposit buildup. Skipping oil changes causes the oil to break down and turn into thick sludge, which leads to increased engine friction, overheating, reduced fuel economy, and eventually catastrophic component failure. Regular oil changes are the single most cost-effective way to prolong your vehicle’s lifespan and prevent expensive engine repairs.

What is the difference between synthetic, synthetic blend, and conventional oil?

Full Synthetic Oil: Provides the highest level of engine protection, handles extreme heat and cold best, resists breaking down over time, and offers the longest interval between services. Ideal for newer models, turbocharged engines, and heavy-duty trucks. Synthetic Blend Oil: A mixture of synthetic and conventional oils that offers better engine protection and performance than conventional oil at a lower price point than full synthetic. Conventional Oil: Traditional petroleum-based oil suitable for older or lower-mileage vehicles with simpler engine designs and shorter service intervals.

How often should I get an oil change for my vehicle?

For most modern vehicles using synthetic oil, an oil change is recommended every 5,000 to 7,500 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. If your vehicle uses conventional oil, operates under severe conditions (such as heavy towing, frequent short trips, or stop-and-go driving), or is a heavy-duty truck, you may need a service every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Always check your owner's manual or ask our technicians to determine the ideal schedule for your specific engine.
